The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) has issued an advisory to petroleum dealers across the country, urging them to ensure full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

The advisory comes as various government departments, regulatory bodies and local authorities are expected to inspect petrol pumps nationwide. Similar enforcement drives by OGRA have focused on checking licences, documentation, operational compliance and safety standards at fuel stations.

OGRA and safety rules

The PPDA has directed dealers to review their records, documents, equipment and safety arrangements before inspections begin.

Dealers have been asked to ensure compliance with rules issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Department of Explosives, Civil Defence and Labour Department. The association stressed that safety and security should remain the top priority at every petrol station.

Recent enforcement actions have also highlighted the importance of valid documents, safety arrangements and regulatory compliance. A petrol pump in Tank was recently sealed over violations including missing mandatory documents and inadequate compliance with legal requirements.

Dealers told to check documents

The PPDA advised dealers to keep all required licences, records and safety equipment ready for inspection. The association also urged operators to address any shortcomings before authorities visit their stations.

The association said it would continue engaging with relevant government authorities to protect the interests of petroleum dealers and help resolve regulatory concerns.

The latest advisory comes amid increased scrutiny of petrol pumps and fuel-station safety across Pakistan, following recent enforcement actions against stations found violating safety requirements.
