Pakistan fuel prices to stay unchanged for two more days
According to the fuel price update, the petrol price Pakistan will remain at Rs335.18 per litre, while the diesel price Pakistan will stay at Rs383.46 per litre until Monday, 27 July.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) said no revision could be made because Platts international fuel prices are not published on weekends.
Officials explained that the current OGRA fuel prices will remain effective throughout Saturday and Sunday. This means petrol rates today and diesel rates today will not change despite the sharp increases seen during the past week.
The latest fuel price update comes after consecutive daily increases. On Thursday, the petrol price Pakistan increased by Rs4.44 to Rs331.52, while the diesel price Pakistan rose by Rs3.62 to Rs378.66. Another increase on Friday pushed petrol to Rs335.18 and diesel to Rs383.46 per litre.
Since the daily pricing mechanism was introduced, fuel prices Pakistan have increased significantly. Petrol has gone up by Rs24.46 per litre, while diesel has increased by Rs60.16 per litre.
Consumers and transport operators have closely followed petrol rates today and diesel rates today because of their direct impact on transportation and household expenses.
OGRA officials said the temporary pause should not be seen as a policy change. Instead, the OGRA fuel prices will be reviewed again once international benchmark prices become available after the weekend.
