Pakistan's daily fuel price revisions have significantly increased petrol and diesel prices, with motorists facing steep hikes in just a few days.

The latest adjustments have placed additional financial pressure on households and businesses already struggling with rising living costs. Frequent changes in fuel prices are also expected to increase transportation expenses, which could eventually affect the prices of essential goods.

According to the latest figures, the price of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs20.69 per litre over the past three days. Diesel now costs Rs375.04 per litre, compared with Rs354.35 per litre three days earlier.

Petrol prices have also continued to rise. During the same period, petrol became Rs11.32 per litre more expensive, increasing from Rs315.80 per litre to Rs327.12 per litre. The only relief for consumers came through a minor reduction of 35 paisas per litre during one of the daily revisions.

The recent increases follow a major adjustment at the end of last week, when diesel prices were raised by Rs31.05 per litre, while petrol prices increased by Rs5.44 per litre.

Overall, during the last six days, diesel prices have climbed by Rs52.19 per litre, while petrol has become Rs16.76 per litre more expensive.

Fuel prices in Pakistan are influenced by changes in international oil markets, exchange rate movements, taxes and petroleum levies. Economists warn that continued increases in fuel costs could push inflation higher, raise transport fares and increase production costs across multiple sectors, adding further pressure on consumers and businesses in the coming weeks.
