Pakistan braces for rain in several regions
Pakistan's Meteorological Department has forecast rain and thunderstorms in several parts of the country today, while many plain regions are expected to continue experiencing hot and dry weather conditions.
According to the weather advisory, Islamabad is likely to remain partly cloudy throughout the day, with light rain expected at isolated locations. The capital recorded a morning temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, which is higher than normal for this time of year. Daytime temperatures are expected to rise to around 37 degrees Celsius, while winds may blow at a speed of approximately 11 kilometers per hour.
In Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, weather conditions are expected to become unstable during the afternoon, increasing the likelihood of thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall. Gilgit-Baltistan is also forecast to witness partly cloudy skies, with scattered showers possible in a few areas.
Meanwhile, Lahore is expected to remain under the influence of hot and dry weather, with no significant chance of rainfall. The maximum temperature is likely to reach 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 28 degrees Celsius. Winds are forecast to blow at a relatively low speed of 5 kilometers per hour, and humidity levels could rise to nearly 70 percent.
In Karachi, cloudy weather is expected along with light rain and drizzle in some parts of the city. Dust-laden winds may also occur. The port city's current temperature stands at 31 degrees Celsius, with daytime temperatures likely to range between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius. Humidity remains high at 75 percent, while air quality has been reported as satisfactory. Light rain and drizzle were recorded in several Karachi neighborhoods overnight, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Malir, and Scheme 33.
