The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new service called Nishan Pakistan to modernize identity verification and strengthen Pakistan’s digital economy.

Under its legal mandate, NADRA provides identity verification services to government departments and regulated private sector organizations. Previously, these services involved multiple complex steps, lengthy documentation, and repeated approvals, causing delays and transparency concerns.

The Nishan Pakistan platform centralizes all identity verification services on a single web portal. Registered institutions, including banks, microfinance banks, electronic money institutions, non-banking financial institutions, and telecommunication companies, can now access services faster and more securely.

The portal provides access to advanced facilities such as multi-biometric verification APIs (fingerprints and facial recognition), Verisys, Proof of Life API, and Single Sign-On (SSO). Registration, subscription, and service access are fully digital, ensuring complete data security and instant verification for users.

The initiative, launched under the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP), aligns with Pakistan’s priorities for financial inclusion, e-governance, and a secure digital economy. It will improve service delivery for government institutions involved in social welfare and public programs, and assist private sector organizations in verifying citizen identities reliably.

NADRA emphasized that Nishan Pakistan will enhance citizens’ trust in digital systems while supporting transparent, efficient, and legally compliant operations. Detailed information on registration and subscription is available on the Nishan Pakistan web portal.
