NADRA launches digital vehicle transfer service with Pak ID app
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new digital facility to make vehicle buying and selling faster, easier and more secure. The latest feature has been added to the Pak ID mobile application to reduce paperwork and improve public services.
With the latest Pak ID app Version 5.6.8, NADRA has introduced digital vehicle cards and biometric verification for vehicles registered in Balochistan. The new service allows eligible vehicle owners to complete important transfer procedures without visiting government offices.
The initiative has been launched in partnership with the Government of Balochistan. It is part of ongoing efforts to expand digital government services and improve identity-based verification for vehicle ownership.
Under the updated Pak ID app, owners of Balochistan-registered vehicles can now view their digital vehicle cards directly on their smartphones. The app also offers biometric verification during the sale and purchase process to make transactions more secure.
The biometric system is expected to reduce the chances of fraud during vehicle transfers. It also makes the ownership transfer process quicker and more convenient for buyers and sellers.

According to NADRA, citizens can now complete verification and transfer-related procedures from the comfort of their homes. This removes the need for repeated visits to government offices and saves valuable time.
The authority said the new service is part of its wider digital transformation plan. The goal is to improve public services by using secure identity verification in everyday transactions.
Over the past few years, NADRA has continued to expand the services available through the Pak ID application. Citizens can already use the app to apply for and renew different identity documents online.
NADRA has also introduced self-service kiosks at selected centres across Pakistan. These kiosks allow citizens to renew their National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), replace lost or damaged NICOPs and process the cancellation of a deceased family member’s NICOP without waiting in long queues.
The latest Pak ID update further supports NADRA’s move towards paperless and technology-driven public services. Officials believe the new system will make identity verification and government services more efficient, accessible and secure for people across Pakistan.
The new digital vehicle transfer service is another step towards modernising government services in Pakistan. If expanded to other provinces, it could make vehicle transfers faster, safer and more convenient for millions of citizens.
