ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The Metro Bus service in Islamabad and Rawalpindi has been partially suspended due to the arrival of foreign delegations for important US-Iran talks.

According to officials, the Metro Bus will now operate only between Saddar Station and PIMS. The route from PIMS to Pak Secretariat has been temporarily closed following directions from the district administration. Authorities have taken strict measures to manage security and traffic during this period.

A special traffic plan has also been introduced, affecting several major roads in both cities. Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays and congestion.

Travelers coming from GT Road Peshawar to Rawalpindi have been directed to use the Taxila Motorway, Chakri-Chak Beli Road, or Rawat routes. Similarly, those traveling from Lahore to Peshawar have been advised to use Rawat, Chak Beli Road, or the Taxila Motorway.

Traffic police have also advised people traveling from Margalla Road to Rawalpindi to use Ninth Avenue. Meanwhile, those traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad should access Ninth Avenue via Murree Road.

Authorities further stated that traffic from Faisal Avenue to Zero Point will be diverted towards Ninth Avenue. In addition, the Expressway from Zero Point to Coral Chowk will remain closed in both directions during this period.

To strengthen security, all heavy vehicles have been banned from entering Islamabad for two days. This restriction is part of broader measures taken due to the presence of high-level international delegations.

The situation has caused inconvenience for daily commuters, especially those relying on Metro Bus services and major city routes. However, officials say these steps are necessary to ensure smooth and secure arrangements for the important diplomatic event.
