(Web Desk): LPG prices drop by Rs20 per kg across Pakistan, with further reduction expected due to improved supply.

In a major relief for consumers struggling with high fuel costs, LPG prices across Pakistan have dropped by Rs20 per kilogram following improved supply in the market. The reduction comes after a recent increase that had pushed prices to record levels in several cities.

According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry LPG Standing Committee Convener Ali Haider, the price drop is linked to better supply conditions after the ceasefire and the end of Eid and Nowruz holidays in Iran.

He revealed that around 7000 tons of LPG have arrived in Karachi after border routes reopened, significantly improving availability in the market. With supply increasing, immediate price relief has been passed on to consumers, and further reduction of up to Rs50 per kg is expected in the coming days.

Earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority had set the official LPG price at Rs304 per kg. However, market prices had surged to Rs440–450 per kg due to hoarding and supply disruptions, putting a heavy burden on households.

Experts note that Pakistan relies heavily on imported LPG, with nearly 65 percent of its supply coming from abroad and around 90 percent sourced from Iran. Any disruption in cross-border supply directly impacts local prices.

The latest development has raised hopes for sustained relief, provided supply remains stable and market manipulation is controlled.
