LAHORE (Web Desk): Low-level flooding has been reported at three locations along the Indus River, while the flood situation in the Chenab River has improved following changes in water levels, according to the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

A PDMA spokesperson said monsoon rains have increased water levels in Punjab’s rivers. However, river flows have remained largely stable over the past 24 hours. According to the authority, the water flow at Tarbela was recorded at 342,000 cusecs, while Kalabagh recorded 309,000 cusecs and Chashma recorded 293,000 cusecs. Low-level flooding was reported at all three locations along the Indus River.

The PDMA said the flood situation in the Chenab River has improved from high-level to medium-level flooding. Medium-level flooding was reported at Marala, Khanki and Qadirabad. Water flows in the Chenab River were recorded at 208,000 cusecs at Marala, 165,000 cusecs at Khanki and 190,000 cusecs at Qadirabad.

Meanwhile, water levels in the Jhelum and Sutlej rivers remained within the normal range. The Ravi River recorded a flow of 83,000 cusecs at Balloki, while water levels at Jassar, Shahdara and Head Sidhani also remained within the normal range.
