Lahore to host fireworks at five locations on August 14
The fireworks displays are scheduled to take place at Greater Iqbal Park, Dolmen Mall Defence, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Adda Plot, and Liberty Market.
Authorities have also planned musical programmes at selected locations to add to the Independence Day celebrations across the city. The special traffic plan aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and maintain order during the celebrations.
Musical programmes planned at two locations
Musical programmes will also be organised at Liberty Market and H Block in Defence Phase 6. The events are expected to attract large crowds as citizens gather to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day.
Traffic police have urged people attending the celebrations to follow traffic rules and cooperate with officials deployed across the city. Authorities have also warned that activities disrupting traffic or creating road safety concerns will not be tolerated.
Heavy traffic deployment planned across Lahore
Lahore Traffic Police have deployed a large number of officers and personnel to manage traffic during the Independence Day celebrations.
The deployment will be supervised by three senior superintendents of police and 16 deputy superintendents of police. Around 500 traffic inspectors will also perform duties at important locations across the city. The increased deployment is aimed at managing traffic near celebration venues and other busy areas.
Special checkpoints to be set up at 62 locations
Traffic police will establish special checkpoints at 62 locations across Lahore during the celebrations. The checkpoints will focus on preventing wheelie riding, hooliganism and other activities that could disrupt traffic or endanger public safety.

Officials will monitor major roads and busy areas to ensure that traffic continues to move smoothly. Citizens have been advised to follow traffic laws and cooperate with officials during the Independence Day celebrations.
CTO warns against road blockages and traffic disruptions
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said authorities would not tolerate road blockages, road rage or any activity that disrupts the smooth flow of traffic. He urged citizens to celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm while acting responsibly on the roads.
Traffic police have asked people attending fireworks displays and musical programmes to follow the instructions of officers deployed at the venues. Motorists have also been advised to avoid unnecessary traffic violations and remain patient in areas where large crowds are expected.
