Lahore rain brings relief as more showers forecast

(Web Desk): Late-night rain made Lahore’s weather pleasant, while the Met Office forecast more showers and thunderstorms across several regions.

Lahore received late-night rainfall in several areas, bringing relief from the heat and making the weather pleasant. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain across the city and other parts of the country during the next 24 hours.

Rainfall reported in several areas

Rain was recorded in Garhi Shahu, Dharampura, Mughalpura, Harbanspura, Lal Pul, Fateh Garh, Muslim Town, Ichhra, Jain Mandir, Chubarji, Multan Road, Model Town, Green Town, Kot Lakhpat and Nishter Colony. Some areas experienced light showers, while others received heavier rainfall.

The showers brought a noticeable change in the city’s weather, with cloudy conditions expected to continue. Residents may experience further rainfall as the weather system remains active over parts of the region.

Temperature and humidity forecast

According to the Met Office, Lahore’s maximum temperature is expected to reach 31°C, while the minimum temperature may fall to 22°C. Winds are forecast to blow at around 10 kilometres per hour, with humidity reaching 92 per cent.

The weather department has also predicted partly cloudy skies in the city. The combination of cloud cover and rainfall may provide temporary relief from the prevailing heat.

Rain and thunderstorms across Pakistan

Islamabad is also expected to receive rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. The upper parts of the country are likely to experience continued rainfall, while several areas of Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may receive showers.

 

 

The Met Office has forecast thunderstorms and strong winds at some places in Islamabad. Residents in affected areas have been advised to remain cautious during severe weather.

Public urged to remain cautious

The rainfall spell may continue in upper regions until September 18, according to the weather department. Authorities have warned of possible flooding in streams and drains and advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel through underpasses, low-lying roads and areas near waterways during heavy rain.
