LAHORE (Web Desk): Lahore has accelerated the verification process for kite manufacturing licences, with assistant commissioners inspecting manufacturers and their facilities before licences are issued.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz has directed all assistant commissioners to immediately complete the verification of manufacturers’ details.

Officials have also been ordered to inspect the designated locations where kites are manufactured.

Manufacturers undergo field inspections

The district administration said manufacturers have been registering for licences since September 5. Following the registration process, assistant commissioners have started field inspections across the city.

Officials are checking the details provided by manufacturers and inspecting their designated manufacturing locations. The inspections are intended to verify whether manufacturers and their facilities meet the requirements set by the administration.

Licences only for those meeting legal requirements

The administration has made it clear that licences will only be issued to manufacturers who meet all legal requirements and prescribed standards. Manufacturers must therefore complete the verification process before they can receive approval.

The licensing system is intended to bring kite manufacturing under closer official monitoring. Authorities are also expected to check whether manufacturers are following the conditions attached to the licensing process.

DC orders transparency in licensing process

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz has directed officials to maintain complete transparency and merit throughout the verification and licensing process. Officials have been asked to carry out inspections fairly and according to the prescribed requirements.

The instructions are intended to ensure that licences are not issued without proper verification. The administration also wants manufacturers to follow all required standards during production.

Officials told to prevent safety violations

The deputy commissioner has also directed officials to prevent manufacturers from compromising on the prescribed standards. The administration is focusing on compliance before allowing manufacturers to obtain licences.

This means manufacturers who fail to meet the required conditions may not receive approval. The authorities are also monitoring the use of materials in kite production.

Strict action against illegal materials

The district administration has warned that strict action will be taken against manufacturers who use illegal materials in kite production. Officials will check manufacturing facilities as part of the verification process.

The administration wants manufacturers to follow the applicable rules and avoid materials that could create risks for citizens. Any violations found during inspections may lead to action under the relevant rules.

Why kite manufacturing checks matter

Kite flying is a popular recreational activity, but authorities have repeatedly raised concerns about unsafe materials and practices associated with kite manufacturing. Strict checks can help ensure that manufacturers follow the conditions set by the administration.

The licensing process also allows authorities to identify manufacturers and monitor their production facilities. This can make it easier for officials to take action if manufacturers violate the rules.

The licensing process aims to improve public safety

The Lahore administration said it would continue taking measures to provide citizens with a safe environment for recreational activities. The verification of manufacturers is part of these efforts.

Authorities want kite production to take place under a controlled and transparent system. The administration believes that enforcing manufacturing standards can help reduce risks linked to unsafe kite products.

Field inspections expected to continue

Assistant commissioners have already started inspecting manufacturing locations following the opening of the registration process. The verification will determine which manufacturers meet the required conditions.

Officials will review manufacturers’ details and inspect their designated facilities before licences are issued. The process is expected to continue until the registered manufacturers have been properly assessed.
