Lahore’s district administration has officially announced the dates for the 2027 three-day Basant and Jashn-e-Baharan, bringing fresh excitement for residents and cultural enthusiasts.

According to Lahore Deputy Commissioner Ali Ejaz, the colourful celebrations will be held on March 12, 13 and 14, 2027.

The administration said the event will showcase Lahore’s rich cultural heritage, traditional celebrations and vibrant spring atmosphere while giving priority to public safety and law and order.

Lahore prepares for major celebration

Speaking about the event, Deputy Commissioner Ali Ejaz said the 2027 three-day Basant and Jashn-e-Baharan would present Lahore’s historical and natural culture in an attractive way.

He said the administration aims to promote the festival not only as a local celebration but also as a cultural attraction with international appeal.

The district administration is preparing special arrangements to make Basant 2027 a memorable, organised and safe event for citizens.

Officials have stressed that public safety, security and discipline will remain the top priorities throughout the three-day celebrations.

Special safety measures planned

The administration said it would take comprehensive measures to maintain law and order and protect citizens during the festival.

Authorities are expected to focus particularly on preventing the use of dangerous and metallic kite strings, which have previously raised serious safety concerns during kite-flying events.

Officials said no compromise would be made on public safety and strict action would be taken against violations of the rules.

Previous Basant success

According to the administration’s spokesperson, Basant returned to Lahore last year after a long gap and concluded successfully.

The administration had introduced strict measures against dangerous and metallic kite strings and implemented a comprehensive safety strategy.

The previous festival attracted citizens who enjoyed traditional kite-flying activities, while authorities reported that the event concluded without any major untoward incident.

Officials said the positive public response and successful management of last year’s event encouraged the district administration to plan a better, safer and more organised Lahore Basant 2027.
