(Web Desk): PTI founder Imran Khan files plea for suspension of Toshakhana-II sentence and medical bail due to serious eye condition.

Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court seeking suspension of his sentence in the Toshakhana-II case and release on bail. The plea was submitted through lawyers Barrister Salman Safdar and Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry.

The petition also includes a miscellaneous application to expedite hearings in the separate £190 million case against Khan. The legal team requested the court to schedule hearings for both matters at the earliest possible date.

The petition cites both merit and medical grounds for suspension. Khan is reportedly suffering from a severe condition in his right eye, diagnosed by Dr. Muhammad Arif at PIMS. The doctor stated that blood clots in the eye have caused significant vision loss, leaving only 15 percent eyesight in the affected eye. The application emphasizes that treatment cannot be adequately administered within prison facilities, particularly given Khan’s age of 73 years.

Speaking to media, Barrister Salman Safdar said that the cases are expected to be scheduled next week. He added that the team has also filed a petition for Bushra Bibi, who has not received bail for over a year. The legal team requested that hearings for both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s bail applications be scheduled on Monday.

The court’s decision on expediting the hearings will be closely watched amid growing public attention to the health and legal status of the former prime minister.
