Heavy rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have turned deadly, as nine people lost their lives in separate incidents caused by collapsing roofs and walls. The situation has raised serious concerns about safety during extreme weather.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, the deceased include eight children and one woman. A total of 47 people were also injured in these incidents, many of them seriously.
Rainfall, ranging from light to heavy, was recorded in several districts, including Swat, Bannu, Hangu, Nowshera, Tank, Bajaur, Karak, Parachinar, Malakand, and North and South Waziristan.
Officials said that at least six houses were damaged due to the rain, with most of the tragic incidents reported in Bannu and North Waziristan. Many families were caught off guard as structures collapsed suddenly.

Authorities have warned that more rain is expected in the coming days. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rainfall across various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until Tuesday.
Rain was also reported in several areas of Punjab, including Sargodha, Bhakkar, Lodhran, Vehari, Chiniot, Hafizabad, and Bahawalpur, adding to concerns about further damage. Rescue teams and local authorities are monitoring the situation and urging people to stay cautious, especially in weak or poorly constructed homes.
