Islamabad (Web Desk): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has demanded that Pakistan withdraw from the so-called Board of Peace (BoP), calling US President Donald Trump a war criminal.

Speaking at a press conference, Hafiz Naeem said the United States and Israel had launched a war against Iran, committing human rights violations globally. He added that Iran was being punished for supporting Gaza in its fight against Israel.

The JI chief highlighted that 165 schoolgirls were killed at the start of the conflict, describing the US and Israel’s actions as those of “war criminals.”

He warned that Israel’s attacks were not only against Iran but also posed a threat to Pakistan, including its nuclear program. “This is not just Iran’s war; it is also Pakistan’s war,” Hafiz Naeem said, urging the Muslim world to stand firmly with Iran.

The JI leader cautioned that if regime change were imposed in Iran and a “puppet government” installed, Israeli influence could expand right up to Pakistan’s border. He called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to admit that joining the Board of Peace (BoP) was a mistake and urged other Islamic countries to follow Pakistan’s example.

Hafiz Naeem also criticized the government’s handling of protests at the US Consulate in Karachi, questioning why force was used against demonstrators. He said authorities could have dispersed the protest peacefully and demanded accountability from the Sindh and federal governments over reports that US Marines opened fire.

Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif warned that the Zionist agenda behind the Iran conflict aims to extend Israel’s influence to Pakistan’s borders. He made the remarks on X amid growing tensions following the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in the US-Israeli strikes.
