Authorities reported that Khairpur has witnessed a tragic situation after several children developed symptoms linked to skin diseases within a short period.
According to Commissioner Abid Saleem Qureshi, four of the deaths were directly linked to the monkeypox virus, while some of the affected children were also suffering from measles, which may have worsened their condition.
In total, 19 children have reportedly been infected with the illness. Most of the fatalities occurred in the Thariwah area of Khairpur, raising concern among health officials and local communities.
In response to the outbreak, emergency measures have been introduced in Khairpur to help control the spread of the disease and provide treatment to patients.

Across the Sukkur Division, isolation wards have been set up in hospitals to manage infected individuals and reduce the risk of further transmission.
Monkeypox is a viral disease caused by the Mpox virus. It spreads through close contact and is suspected to originate from certain animals, including rodents and non-human primates.
The illness usually begins with fever, followed by a skin rash that spreads across the body. Other symptoms may include headache, muscle pain, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes, with recovery typically taking two to four weeks.
Health officials are urging people to remain cautious, report symptoms early, and follow preventive measures to avoid further spread of the disease.
