A deadly blast at an Imam Bargah in Islamabad killed at least 15 people, injured dozens, and forced authorities to seal all city routes.
The powerful suicide explosion occurred during Friday prayers at an Imam Bargah and mosque in the Tarlai area. According to police and emergency officials, the attacker detonated explosives at the entrance gate when worshippers were arriving for prayers.
Authorities confirmed that at least 15 people lost their lives, while more than 80 others were injured in the attack. Officials warned that the death toll could rise as several victims remain in critical condition.
Hospitals across Islamabad declared emergency and immediately began treating the injured. Medical staff were placed on high alert, and additional resources were mobilized to handle the large number of casualties.
Following the blast, authorities sealed all entry and exit routes to Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Major highways, interchanges, and connecting roads were blocked using containers, barricades, and checkpoints to ensure public safety and control movement.
