The Punjab Electric Bike Scheme 2026 has been launched by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to improve transport facilities for students across the province. Under the initiative, 100,000 electric bikes will be distributed to eligible students enrolled in recognized colleges and universities.

Free electric bikes for female students
According to the Punjab government, female students will receive electric bikes free of cost under the scheme.
Male students will also benefit from the initiative, but they will receive electric bikes through easy, interest-free installment plans, making ownership more affordable.
Who is eligible?
Students must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply
Be 18 years of age or older
Be enrolled in a degree college or university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC)
Hold a valid Punjab domicile
Possess a valid motorcycle driving licence or learner's permit
Not own any registered motor vehicle
Only one applicant per family will be eligible, even if multiple siblings qualify.

Applications will be accepted only through the official Punjab government online portal.

Submit the application before the deadline announced by the government.
After verification, eligible applicants will be selected through a computerized balloting process to ensure transparency.
