Citizens across Pakistan will enjoy four consecutive holidays at the end of this month, as national and community-specific observances align with the weekend.
National Holidays
On Thursday, December 25, the country will celebrate Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday alongside Christmas. Both events are nationwide public holidays, with government and private institutions remaining closed.
Additional Holiday for Christian Community
Friday, December 26, has been declared an additional holiday for Pakistan’s Christian community to observe their religious and traditional activities. This ensures that members of the community can participate in celebrations without work obligations.
Extended Weekend for All
With Saturday and Sunday following, citizens will effectively enjoy a four-day break, combining national, religious, and weekend holidays. This extended holiday period offers families and individuals an opportunity to travel, celebrate, or spend time with loved ones.

Government Calendar
The federal government had released the annual 2025 holiday calendar at the beginning of the year. The schedule had already marked December 25 as a nationwide holiday and December 26 as a special holiday for the Christian community, in line with standard practice.
Officials encouraged citizens to plan responsibly for travel and celebrations during this period. The four-day break is expected to boost local tourism and family gatherings, making the year-end festive season more enjoyable.
