34kg ice recovered as top drug dealer killed in CCD encounter
Tayyab, described by authorities as one of Punjab’s biggest ice (crystal meth) dealers, was killed during an encounter with the Counter Corruption Department (CCD) in Faisalabad.
Three of his unidentified accomplices manage to escape following the exchange of fire. According to officials, CCD personnel signal four suspicious men riding a motorcycle to stop at a checkpoint near Bahadurwala Bridge.
The suspects allegedly open fire after being signalled to stop, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the two sides. During the encounter, Tayyab is shot dead while his three associates manage to flee the scene.
Huge quantity of drugs recovered
Officials say a large quantity of drugs worth millions of rupees was recovered from the deceased suspect.
The recovered drugs include 34kg of ice, 20kg of opium and 14kg of hashish.
The recovery raises further concerns about the scale of the alleged drug trafficking network operating in Faisalabad. Authorities are examining the seized drugs and other evidence as part of the investigation into the suspect’s activities.
Suspect allegedly ran organised drug network
An initial investigation indicates that Tayyab was allegedly operating an organised drug supply network in the city. Officials say the network used women to supply drugs to students at educational institutions across Faisalabad.

The allegation has added a serious dimension to the investigation, with authorities now focusing on how the network operated and how the drugs were allegedly distributed. Investigators are also trying to identify other people linked to the alleged network.
Brother among suspects
Authorities say Tayyab’s brother, Waqas, is also allegedly involved in the drug network. Raids are being carried out to locate and arrest him, officials say.
Meanwhile, efforts are continuing to trace the three accomplices who escaped after the encounter. The investigation is expected to focus on identifying the fugitives and determining their roles in the alleged drug trafficking operation.
Search for accomplices continues
The CCD has launched efforts to track down the three unidentified suspects who fled the scene. Officials are also investigating the network’s alleged links with drug suppliers and distributors in Faisalabad.
The large quantity of drugs recovered from Tayyab has provided investigators with important evidence as they attempt to uncover the wider network. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the three escaped suspects.
Drug trafficking raises concern
The alleged use of women to supply drugs to students has also highlighted concerns about the methods used by drug networks to reach young people. Educational institutions and their surrounding areas can become particularly vulnerable when organised groups target students.
Authorities are now expected to investigate whether other individuals were involved in supplying drugs to students and whether the network operated beyond Faisalabad. The case could lead to further arrests if investigators identify more people linked to the alleged operation.
