12 Rabi ul Awwal on August 26 as moon not sighted in Pakistan

The committee held its meeting after Asr prayers at the central secretariat of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.

New Islamic month begins on August 15

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee said the Rabi ul Awwal moon was not seen anywhere across the country. As a result, the first day of Rabi ul Awwal will be August 15.

The committee confirmed that 12 Rabi ul Awwal will be observed on Wednesday, August 26. The announcement settles the date for the important Islamic occasion in Pakistan.
