(Web Desk): NADRA expands CNIC issuance and renewal services to selected e-Sahulat franchises to reduce queues and improve access.

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced identity document issuance and National Identity Card (CNIC) renewal services at selected e-Sahulat franchise centers across Pakistan, aiming to make essential services more accessible and citizen-friendly.

The initiative is designed to ease pressure on overcrowded NADRA registration centers, particularly in major cities where long queues and waiting times have become a routine challenge for applicants.

According to NADRA spokesperson Shabahat Ali Syed, despite a steady rise in marriages, divorces, births, and deaths across the country, a large number of citizens are still failing to register these life events on time. He emphasized that proper registration is critical for accessing government services, legal protection, and social welfare programs.

To address this issue, NADRA has partnered with Radio Pakistan to launch a public awareness campaign. Through informative broadcasts and discussions, the campaign highlights the importance of timely registration and explains identity documentation procedures in simple terms.

In cities like Karachi, where multiple NADRA centers already operate, demand remains exceptionally high. To provide relief, e-Sahulat mini-centers have been set up in selected neighborhoods and marketplaces, allowing citizens to apply for new CNICs or renew expired cards closer to their homes.

Officials clarified that while basic CNIC issuance and renewal services are available at these outlets, data modification services will not be offered at e-Sahulat franchises.

NADRA expects the move to significantly reduce congestion, improve efficiency, and save time for citizens. A detailed public podcast has also been released, offering guidance on services, locations, and application procedures.
