Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that the war against terrorism is a collective fight of the entire nation, adding that in 2025 the state and the people achieved complete clarity on the issue of terrorism.
Addressing a press conference, the army spokesperson said the purpose of the briefing was to outline concrete actions taken against terrorism rather than mere statements. He raised the question of why most terrorist incidents occur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and clarified that groups referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan have no connection with Pakistan or Balochistan.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that Afghanistan has become a hub for terrorism and serves as a base of operations for terrorist activities across the region. He said Pakistan’s stance against terrorism is clear and unwavering, and the country will not compromise on its security.
Sharing operational data, he said that 14,658 operations were conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while 58,778 operations took place in Balochistan. In other parts of the country, 1,739 operations were carried out. Overall, 75,175 intelligence-based operations were conducted in 2025.

He added that 5,400 terrorist incidents were reported nationwide during the year, including a suicide attack at the Islamabad Judicial Complex. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone witnessed 3,811 terrorist incidents. As a result of counter-terrorism efforts, 2,597 terrorists were killed in 2025.
The DG ISPR said the Field Marshal has given a clear and firm message that the war against terrorism will be fought with full force and strength. He emphasised that Pakistan’s armed forces, in coordination with state institutions and the public, remain committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace.
