LAHORE (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called for a nationwide protest to be held tomorrow (Friday) to observe a "Black Day" against the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

According to party sources, PTI workers will be demonstrating in all constituencies, particularly in Punjab, immediately after Friday prayers.

The specific form of the protest will involve PTI workers tying black armbands to signify their objection. All ticket holders and Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) have been instructed to record their protest within their respective constituencies.

The call for the "Black Day" stems from strong opposition to the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the head of the Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan (Movement for Protection of Pakistan's Constitution), has also spoken out forcefully against the amendment, vowing to use the "power of the people to block the way of this government."

Mahmood Khan Achakzai confirmed that a major protest movement would begin this Friday. He stressed that their demonstrations would be peaceful. He also announced plans to write letters to the ambassadors of various countries, highlighting the "theft of the mandate" in Pakistan, contrasting it with the democracy that other nations champion.

Mr. Achakzai reminded the public that Pakistan, achieved through great sacrifices, is facing immense challenges. He cited a United Nations report stating that 45 percent of the Pakistani population is currently living below the poverty line, linking political stability to the country’s economic hardship.

This coordinated move by PTI and the parallel protest movement signals a significant escalation of political tension.

By observing a "Black Day" and mobilizing on a Friday, the parties aim to maximize turnout and put massive public pressure on the government regarding the 27th Amendment, potentially leading to political instability and further disruption.
