PM Shehbaz to update parliamentary leaders on Gulf crisis

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet parliamentary leaders to discuss the rising tensions in the Gulf region.

Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar told the Senate that the PM will give an in-camera briefing on the Middle East situation, particularly the ongoing Iran-Israel tensions, on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political and Public Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has been asked to coordinate with all parliamentary leaders, including opposition members from both the Senate and the National Assembly, to ensure full participation.

Tarar said this step was taken in view of recent developments in global and regional politics, highlighting the importance of informed decision-making in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss national politics and regional developments. The PM appreciated the PPPP as a key coalition partner and thanked them for supporting government decisions aimed at advancing the country’s development.

The PPPP delegation included Senator Sherry Rehman, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Syed Naveed Qamar, and Aijaz Jakhrani. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Adviser Rana Sanaullah.
