Massive corruption exposed in Suthra Punjab project

According to reports, the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment has allegedly arrested Abdullah Bajwa following an inquiry into the case.

The Abdullah Bajwa arrest reportedly came after officials found serious issues related to payments, attendance records, and waste management operations.

Investigators claimed that payments were approved for 2,317 waste containers, while only 1,717 containers were allegedly available on the ground.

The inquiry further alleged that 633 ghost sanitary workers were shown as active employees despite reportedly not performing any actual sanitation duties.

Officials stated that these ghost sanitary workers were listed for door-to-door cleaning services, allowing payments to be released from government funds.

The latest sanitation project corruption allegations have sparked strong public reaction, especially on social media platforms.

Authorities also claimed that only 33 waste enclosures were functioning, while billing was allegedly issued for 118 locations.

The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment further alleged that three temporary garbage collection points existed only in official records and were never physically established.

Investigators believe the Rs1 billion Suthra Punjab corruption scandal case may involve fake billing, manipulated records, and financial fraud within the sanitation system.

The inquiry also accused officials of lowering the declared value of machinery, including tractors and loaders, through fraudulent methods.

Officials investigating the Suthra Punjab corruption scandal further claimed that vehicle tracker data used in waste collection operations had been manipulated.

According to reports, the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment formed a high-level inquiry team consisting of senior officers from vigilance and headquarters departments.
