Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir on Thursday said the Pakistan Armed Forces are rapidly embracing modern technology and innovation to effectively respond to evolving battlefield challenges. He stressed that adaptability, local preparedness, and indigenization will be the backbone of future warfare.
During his visit to Bahawalpur Garrison, Field Marshal Munir was given detailed briefings on the Corps’ operational, training, and administrative readiness, with special emphasis on multi-domain warfare. He also observed the “Steadfast Resolve” field exercise at Khairpur Tamewali, where troops demonstrated the integrated use of advanced technologies.
The exercise showcased unmanned aerial systems, electronic warfare assets, modern surveillance tools, and advanced command-and-control mechanisms, highlighting the Army’s shift toward technology-driven operations. Addressing officers and troops, the CDF noted that the character of war has changed dramatically, requiring not only technological upgrades but also a mental transformation at all levels.

He said future conflicts will see technological maneuvers complementing and, in some cases, replacing traditional physical maneuvers in both offensive and defensive operations. Praising the troops, Field Marshal Munir lauded their high morale, professionalism, and operational preparedness, reaffirming that the Armed Forces remain fully capable of defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
As part of the visit, he inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub to promote digital learning for students from Southern Punjab and opened the APS Abbasia Campus, reinforcing the Army’s commitment to education and character building.
Earlier, he visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he was briefed on modernization and maintenance efforts supporting advanced military platforms. He also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha to honor Pakistan’s martyrs.
