“Army is mine, country is mine” Imran Khan message echoed as PTI marks Marka-i-Haq anniversary
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday marked the first anniversary of the “Marka-i-Haq” conflict, congratulating the nation and praising Pakistan’s armed forces for what it described as a decisive response during a brief four-day escalation with India.
The party stated that Pakistan’s military achieved tactical superiority over India during the conflict, crediting the armed forces for defending national sovereignty and delivering a strong counter-response.
In its statement issued by the media secretariat, PTI also praised the Pakistan Air Force, claiming that its performance during the confrontation brought down multiple enemy fighter jets. The party said the success of the armed forces had established a “historic benchmark” of professionalism and skill.
The statement further paid tribute to martyrs of the armed forces, including personnel from the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force, who lost their lives while defending the country.
PTI also referred to its founder Imran Khan, saying that even while in custody, he had contributed to strengthening national defence and raising global awareness about regional tensions. The party reiterated his political messaging regarding national unity and military strength.
Separately, a commemorative ceremony was held at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) College of Medical Technicians. The event was attended by doctors, nurses and paramedical staff.
Officials at the ceremony also paid tribute to the armed forces and highlighted the role of senior military leadership during the conflict, while speakers emphasized national solidarity and institutional cooperation.
The event reflected broader national commemorations marking the anniversary of the reported military standoff.
