RAWALPINDI (Web Desk): Authorities have issued a strict security and traffic plan in view of a religious party’s planned Aqsa March towards Islamabad and the possibility of major protests in the twin cities.

According to a police spokesperson, Faizabad to Islamabad’s Murree Road has been completely sealed, while the route from Faiz-ul-Islam to Survey of Pakistan Road is closed from both directions. Traffic has also been halted at Shamsabad Metro Station, Dhoke Kala Khan U-turn, Naz Cinema, and DAV College Chowk to avoid any possible clashes between citizens and protesters.

Several major interchanges including Chakri, Thalian, Brahma, and Mandrah have been closed for entry into Rawalpindi. Officials said Motorway M-1 towards Peshawar remains open, while M-2 towards Lahore and Rawalpindi is closed due to security concerns.
