
In the provincial capital, traffic diversions have been announced at Liberty Chowk in connection with the Independence Day celebrations.
The City Traffic Police has diverted traffic from Kalma Chowk UCH towards Main Boulevard. Travelers heading to MM Alam Road and Jail Road from UCH are advised to take a U-turn towards Center Point, then proceed via Firdous Market to Cavalry or from Firdous Market through Hussain Chowk to reach their destination.
Similarly, from Kalma Chowk to Center Point, motorists can take a left turn past Government College for Boys Gulberg, cross Qaddafi Roundabout, and head to Main Boulevard via Chen One and Hali Road.
The Punjab government will host a grand musical concert at Liberty Chowk tonight, with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz as the chief guest. The event will feature spectacular fireworks.
The main Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony will take place on 14 August at Hazuri Bagh, where CM Maryam Nawaz will raise the national flag. The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) will also organize a fireworks display at Minar-e-Pakistan at midnight.
