Lahore (Web Desk): An FIR has been filed at the Sharqi Police Station in Peshawar over the alleged abduction of PTI activist Sanam Javed.

The incident reportedly occurred near the Civil Officers’ Mess on Monday night.

Sanam s friend, Hira Babar, who filed the FIR, said the two were returning home after dinner when two suspicious vehicles blocked their path around 10:40 PM. Five unidentified men reportedly got out of one car and tried to force Sanam into their vehicle.

Despite their cries for help, nearby security personnel did not intervene, Hira told the police. The men allegedly took Sanam towards the Red Zone area of the city.

The case has been registered under Section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with kidnapping.

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has ordered a full investigation, promising to use all available resources to find those responsible. A CM spokesperson confirmed that the culprits will be arrested.

The PTI condemned the incident, calling it “shameful and deeply disturbing,” and said it reflects a serious violation of human rights. The party also demanded justice and accountability.

The alleged abduction of Sanam Javed, a PTI activist, comes at a politically sensitive time in Pakistan. The fact that it happened in a high-security area, reportedly in the presence of officers who did not act, raises serious questions about law enforcement and state accountability. The swift response by the CM shows political sensitivity to the case, but the incident underscores growing concerns about safety, especially of political activists. PTI’s strong reaction indicates this may escalate into a wider political controversy if not resolved transparently.
