LAHORE (Web Desk): New conditions have been imposed for vehicles entering the motorway, according to a statement issued by the Motorway Police spokesperson.

During an important meeting between the DIG Motorways Central Zone, Syed Farid Ali, and transport owners, the DIG gave several new instructions aimed at improving safety and discipline on highways.

The spokesperson said that the motorway police have now made dash cams and vehicle trackers mandatory for all transport vehicles. “Any bus without a dash cam will not be allowed to enter the motorway or highways,” the DIG strictly warned.

He further directed that every vehicle’s fitness certificate must be clearly displayed on the front screen. Drivers were also instructed to ensure their fog lights are working properly before the winter fog season begins. The DIG emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for picking up or dropping passengers anywhere other than designated bus stops.

Syed Farid Ali also announced a ban on the illegal use of CNG in small vehicles. He warned that violators would face strict legal action. Additionally, he urged bus staff to treat passengers with respect, adding that any misconduct or complaint would lead to immediate action by the police.

He also instructed the staff at toll plazas and movie points to check tickets carefully. During the meeting, the DIG listened to the transporters’ concerns and issued orders for prompt action to address their issues.

These new motorway rules show the government’s growing focus on road safety and passenger welfare. The move is expected to improve discipline and reduce accidents, especially during the fog season. The dash cam rule will also increase transparency and accountability for both drivers and authorities.
