ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) A meeting of the federal cabinet was held Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during which the matter of banning Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was deferred.

According to the details, the federal cabinet meeting took up the six-point agenda. The summary of the establishment of special courts under the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Act, 1997, and the summary of granting visa-free entry to investors from friendly countries were discussed.

The matter of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pakistan and Denmark for sustainable development projects and the appointment of the Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) were considered.

Apart from this, a summary of the increase in the number of board members of the Privatisation Commission was also considered, and the policy implementation report for 2021-2021 and 2022-23 was submitted to the cabinet.

It is to be noted here that the ban on the PTI was expected to be considered during the cabinet meeting yesterday, but it was postponed due to the prime minister’s busy schedule.

The government had announced plans to ban the PTI from politics and prosecute its leader for sedition for violating the Constitution.
