Martial law is the replacement of civilian government by military rule and the suspension of civilian legal processes for military powers while a technocratic setup is a model of governance wherein decision-makers are chosen for office based on their technical expertise and background.
During an informal conversation with journalists In Adiala Jail, the former prime minister said, “Information Minister Attaullah Tarde has said that I am in the VIP room of the jail. Please visit my room for a minute. Death cell and prisons of terrorists are next to my room.”

“Lies are being told to cover up rigging in February 8 elections,” he said. He said that PTI workers are being tried in military courts against the law. “Their plan is to put me in the military jail in the May 9 cases,” he said. Morally, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Esa should not hear the cases against PTI leaders, he said.
The PTI founder maintained that he will ask his members of parliament in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to go on hunger strike.
He said that in the Toshakhana reference, employee Inam Shah and the customs appraiser were made approvers. Approver is an accomplice to a felony who confesses guilt and gives evidence against their confederates.

Imran Khan raised the question why the Toshakhana references against Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari were not being heard.
Earlier, the PTI founder said that banning any political party is akin to killing democracy. He added the PTI had already been banned and was not allowed to contest the elections.
The PTI’s chairman, vice chairman and president are already in prison, yet they say they would ban the PTI, Imran said. He noted that (Chief Minister) Maryam Nawaz criticised the judges and said they were not right.
He also said that a certain elite class has been occupying and ruling the country for the past six decades, and that these elites have put the country at stake to protect their own interests. They do not want to hold fair and transparent elections in the country, he added.
