During a conversation with a private television, he described Imran Khan as untrustworthy, and said that the former prime minister could not live without power and could go to any extent for the purpose.

Commenting on the unstable political strategy of Imran Khan, the defense minister said that the people whom Imran Khan severely criticised have joined hands with the PTI such as Sheikh Rasheed, Pervaiz Elahi and Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Khawaja Asif further said that Imran Khan has now admitted that he had given the call for protest outside General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi, which may be an attempt to apologize.

Khawaja Asif made it clear that “if Imran Khan apologizes and becomes a part of the political stream again, we have no objection”. He said that there are ups and downs in politics, but these kinds of movements and traditions are harmful for the country, he added.

Regarding the hunger strike camp of PTI, the defense minister said that it had to be postponed due to non-participation of people in the hunger strike camp. He predicted that with time PTI’s public support would also erode.

He said that there have been major dangerous trends in the 75-year history of Pakistan, but what Imran Khan has done is the most terrible. He said that PTI founder can go to any extent to come to power.
