LAHORE: (Suno News) Due to the internal differences of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), former president Arif Alvi is ready to take over the command of the party as the party’s chairman.

According to sources, the changes have been decided in view of strong reservations of party members against current Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Secretary General Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz. In a bid to end intra-party rift, the senior leadership has recommended Arif Alvi for PTI’s chairman slot.

A series of consultations with the PTI founder is going on. Soon after a meeting with Barrister Gohar Ali, the incarcerated former prime minister will implement the change. Imran’s message has also been sent to Arif Alvi.

The sources while talking to Suno News said that the PTI founder has taken the decision due to day-to-day party problems and internal differences on behalf of the members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. Arif Alvi will soon take the charge as PTI chairman.

For the purpose, the PTI founder has recommended to dissolve the core committee of the party. Arif Alvi is also expected to take steps on an emergency basis for the release of Imran Khan under the one-point agenda, the sources said.

Meanwhile, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore extended the interim bails of PTI founder Imran Khan till July 5 in three cases including the Jinnah House vandalism case.

Lahore ATC Administrator Judge Khalid Arshad presided over the hearing of the three other cases. Instead of appearing himself, the investigation officer (IO) sent the record through a junior officer.

The court had issued a bailable arrest warrant after the non-appearance of the investigation officer in the Askari Tower attack case.
