According to sources, the application was sent by PTI’s Patron-in-Chief’s lawyer, Tabish Farooq, through post to Rawalpindi CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani. The case was sought after Imran Khan’s sisters were repeatedly denied meetings with him in Adiala Jail.
The petition names several officials including Adiala Jail Superintendent Ghafoor Anjum, ASP Zainab, and other police officers.
Lawyer Tabish Farooq alleged in the application that Imran Khan is not being provided the basic facilities he is entitled to under prison rules. He is not allowed to meet doctors, and jail authorities are openly violating court orders, amounting to contempt of court.
The request also claimed that every Tuesday, police officials stop Imran Khan’s sisters – Aleema Khan, Noreen Khanum, and Dr Uzma – at police checkpoints far from the jail. They are harassed, threatened, and even allegedly abducted before being abandoned at deserted locations.

Another shocking allegation was that Imran Khan’s cell is kept without light, forcing him to live in darkness. His family is denied permission to meet him, and all these actions are reportedly being carried out on Maryam Nawaz’s direct instructions, since Adiala Jail falls within Punjab’s jurisdiction.
The application further argued that the PTI founder is being deprived of even the fundamental rights of a prisoner. Maryam Nawaz herself, in her public speeches, has referred to Imran Khan as “a source of chaos” and threatened that he must be eliminated.
Lawyer Tabish Farooq demanded that a criminal case be registered against all the named individuals and strict legal action be taken.
The explosive allegations made in this petition highlight the deepening political hostility in Punjab. Imran Khan’s legal team has painted a grim picture of jail conditions, ranging from harassment of his sisters to denial of basic rights like medical access and light in his cell.
If true, these claims point towards a serious abuse of power and a potential human rights violation. The direct accusation against Maryam Nawaz intensifies the political battlefield, framing her as the mastermind behind Imran Khan’s alleged mistreatment.
The situation raises urgent questions: Is this legal battle purely political pressure, or does it expose a darker reality of how power is exercised against opponents in Pakistan? The outcome of this petition may set a precedent for how justice and political rivalry will unfold in the months ahead.
