The lawyer of Raoof Hassan informed the court that his client is a recovered cancer patient who needs to go to the United Kingdom after every 6 months for medical checkup. According to the lawyer, DG Immigration included the name in PCL on August 26, 2024 upon the recommendation of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), despite the bail on the relevant case and the state has also not requested to cancel the bail.
The court stated in the decision that only a pending criminal case or under inquiry case is not sufficient to ban any citizen to travel abroad. It is also clarified in the decision that the travel ban on Raoof Hassan was imposed without permission of the federal government. As per the passport rules, it is only federal government’s jurisdiction to allow to enter or exit the country, the order reads.
The court also directed Raoof Hassan to approach trial court to travel abroad and expected that trial court will make a decision soon as per the law.
