DG ISPER stated that Field Marshal General Asim Munir did not give any interview to journalist Sohail Warraich.
He asserted that no amnesty is being considered in the May 9 cases and that the Army Chief did not conduct any interview in Brussels.
In a press statement, the DG ISPR underscored that May 9 is not the army s issue but a national concern, underlining again that the law will hold everyone involved responsible. He accused Sohail Warraich of making up a tale for personal reasons.

DG ISPR further said that Sohail Warraich was there at the Army Chief s function in Brussels with hundreds of other attendees, but no interview was ever taken. He emphasized that those who have committed illegal activities should be tried by courts of law, adding that the army s stand on May 9 has never been different from the very start.
In addition, the DG ISPR also called for responsible journalism, saying that Warraich s media house should have checked facts before publishing the story. He emphasized that the Brussels incident was public, with hundreds of people who attended and photographs, making it misleading to claim that there was a private interview.
