250 PTI activists get surprising relief from ATC

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad granted bail to 250 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists in connection with the November 26 protest.

The ATC heard bail applications filed by arrested individuals in relation to 13 cases filed after the November 26 protest. The court ordered the release of 250 accused individuals after the submission of surety bonds worth Rs5,000 each, while the petitions of 150 accused were rejected.

The case registered at the Bani Gala Police Station, post-arrest bail was granted to 18 accused individuals, while in case number 1033 registered at Kohsar Police Station, the petitions of the accused were dismissed.

Meanwhile, in FIR 1,032 registered at Kohsar police station, bails were granted to 43 accused individuals. However, the petition of one accused in the same case was rejected.

It is noteworthy that a total of 13 cases have been registered against the accused across 10 different police stations, most of which are related to disturbances during the protest, damage to public property, and clashes with law enforcement agencies.

After the court s decision, PTI workers and their lawyers expressed satisfaction, while the accused whose petitions were rejected expressed their intention to appeal the decision.
