ISLAMABAD (Suno News): The government has officially opened registrations for the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, aiming to empower hardworking and talented students through access to technology.

Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, announced that 100,000 laptops will be distributed across the country on the basis of merit. He added that government would ensure that deserving students receive the modern technologically to help them thrive academically.

He urged students to register in time to avoid any inconvenience, as the last date to apply is May 20, 2025.

Registrations are being processed via the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub, an online platform specifically set up to streamline access. The students currently enrolled in public-sector higher education institutions are eligible to apply.

According to Rana Mashhood, the initiative is part of the government s broader push to promote digital literacy and educational advancement in Pakistan.

By equipping students with modern tools, the scheme aims to bridge the technological gap and better prepare youth for the challenges of a fast-changing academic and professional world.

Students enrolled in public sector universities across Pakistan who meet the specified criteria are eligible to apply for the PM Laptop Scheme 2025. Active Enrollment: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a public sector higher education institution in Pakistan.

Academic Performance: Selection will be based primarily on academic merit. Students with strong academic records will be given preference.

Applying for Phase-IV of the scheme is simple, but applicants must follow the steps carefully to ensure their eligibility:

Role of Universities and Designated Focal Persons

Each participating university will appoint a focal person to manage the registration process and serve as a liaison between the university and the HEC. Their responsibilities include;

Coordination with HEC: Ensuring accurate submission of student data for verification.

Document Verification: Reviewing and confirming the authenticity of student records.

Maintaining University Data: Keeping details such as degree programs, faculty information, and campus data updated on the portal.
