According to a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the country’s airspace will remain closed on October 28 and 29, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. each day.
The directive applies to both domestic and international commercial airlines, which have been instructed to adjust flight operations and follow precautionary measures during the restricted hours.
The CAA has specified that certain routes within Karachi and Lahore flight regions will remain closed for commercial air traffic during the restriction period. The decision is seen as a precautionary and security measure amid reports of India conducting extensive tri-services military exercises near the Pakistani border.
Indian defense officials earlier confirmed that the exercises—spanning the Army, Navy, and Air Force—are scheduled from October 30 to November 10, 2025, and will involve integrated maneuvers and live-fire drills close to Pakistan’s territorial boundary.

Analysts believe Pakistan’s airspace closure reflects heightened vigilance and operational preparedness in light of the ongoing Indian drills, which Islamabad perceives as provocative and strategically sensitive.
Aviation authorities have assured passengers that normal flight operations will resume after the brief suspensions, and airlines are being kept fully updated to minimize disruption.
