These dealerships will have trained personnel to do emission tests and ETS equipment. Owners of vehicles must pay Rs. 400 for each test at these locations.
The department thinks this approach will greatly boost the number of automobiles that are tested. According to Raja Jahangir Anwar, offering the service through approved dealerships will increase vehicle owners comfort and efficiency, particularly since demand for the service keeps rising.
With 20 centres spread throughout Lahore, the ETS program was first introduced as a free service. Three squads are normally housed in each centre; nevertheless, lengthy lines and complaints of delays have brought attention to the system s shortcomings.
After enough vehicles have been tested under the new approach, the government intends to expedite the emission testing procedure and proceed with wider enforcement.
