UAE announces five-year tourist visas for Pakistanis
DUBAI: (Web Desk) In a significant development for Pakistani travelers, the Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi announced that Pakistanis will now be able to avail five-year tourist visas.

Following the resolution of existing issues, the Pakistani travelers will be able to get fiver-year visa for UAE.

As per Dubai s General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, the UAE will now issue multiple-entry tourist visas valid for five years. These visas will allow holders to make multiple trips to the UAE without needing a guarantor or host in the country.

The announcement came during a meeting between Ambassador Zaabi and Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at the Governor’s House. Zaabi confirmed the resolution of the visa issues, stating, "Visa issues have been resolved, Pakistanis can now obtain a five-year visa."

During the meeting, the Ambassador also extended an invitation to the governor Tessori to visit the Karachi consulate. In response, Governor Tessori expressed his gratitude to the UAE particularly for its investment in Sindh.

This announcement follows a period of heightened scrutiny on Pakistani travelers, largely due to concerns over alleged involvement in criminal activities, such as begging.

A Senate panel meeting on December 23 revealed that all Pakistani travelers to the UAE were being vetted by police, with travel agents being instructed to comply with these new protocols.

In a subsequent meeting on January 9, the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development clarified that there were no restrictions on work visas for Pakistanis. However, it was noted that the UAE had effectively "unofficially closed" visit visas due to concerns over certain visitors engaging in begging activities.
