(Web Desk): The Swiss Government has opened applications for the Excellence Scholarships 2026–2027, inviting Pakistani students and researchers to pursue fully-funded academic and research programmes in Switzerland.

The scholarship covers PhD, research, and postdoctoral fellowships, granting entry to Swiss universities, federal institutes of technology, and top research institutes.

The programme includes over 180 partner countries, including Pakistan, as it is designed to foster global academic exchange and networking.
Recipients receive tuition fee waivers, a monthly stipend, health insurance, accommodation allowance, and airfare support, depending on the award category.

·         Eligibility: Applicants must hold a Master’s or PhD (depending on programme), be born after 31 December 1990, and have secured an academic supervisor in Switzerland.

Application & Selection
Prospective applicants should submit their proposals via the Swiss scholarship portal at go.eskas.ch/LoginServlet. Pakistan’s diplomatic mission will evaluate the applications, and then, based on academic merit, research originality, and collaboration potential, the applications will be evaluated by the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS).

The initiative has been welcomed by education experts. Pakistan’s academic credentials are enhanced through these applications, and international research partnerships are also fostered through them.
