HYDERABAD (Web Desk):The Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, has announced that the provincial government will introduce an agricultural emergency plan next week.

According to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the provincial government is set to introduce an agricultural emergency plan next week.

This plan aims to stabilize wheat prices and support farmers in improving wheat cultivation.

The government previously increased the wheat procurement price to Rs4,000 per mound to assist farmers, but the price later returned to the open market.

The CM assured that despite a decrease in wheat production, sufficient stocks are available until March 2026.

During visits to Guddu and Sukkur barrages, CM Shah reviewed the flood situation and relief efforts.

He stated that the province is prepared to handle a potential super flood, with water flows expected to reach up to 700,000 cusecs.

Emergency measures are in place, including the reinforcement of embankments and the deployment of 192 boats for evacuation operations.

The CM also called for federal support for flood victims through the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) and international assistance to address the climate-induced disaster.
