LAHORE (Web Desk): SUPARCO has issued a forecast regarding the expected sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awwal 1447 Hijri moon.

 According to astronomers, the birth of the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon is expected to occur on 23 August 2025 at 11:06 AM. By sunset on 24 August 2025, the age of the new moon will be approximately 32 hours and 13 minutes.

SUPARCO stated that in coastal areas, the time duration between sunset and moonset will be around 45 minutes, making the sighting of the moon on the evening of 24 August 2025 highly likely, provided the weather remains clear.

According to SUPARCO, 1st Rabi-ul-Awwal is expected to fall on 25 August 2025, and based on that, 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal (Eid Milad-un-Nabi ) is likely to be observed on 5 September 2025. However, the final announcement regarding the moon sighting will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

It is noteworthy that the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to observe the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon will be held on 23 August, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. The official announcement regarding the sighting or non-sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon will be made by the committee on the evening of 24 August.
