The new schedule comes into effect for its domestic consumers. According to the new schedule, the gas will be provided uninterrupted from 6 am to 10 pm every day, ensuring the consistent service.
As per reports, the change to the schedule is divided the gas supply into three time slots - 6 am to 9 am, 11 am to 2 pm, and 6 pm to 10 pm.
For more reliable supply, the SNGPL officials said that the decision to streamline the schedule was driven by the rise in gas availability, allowing for a more reliable and continuous supply.
The utility company announced that the change to the plan would ensure an uninterrupted supply is part of its ongoing efforts to improve service quality and address the needs of its domestic consumers. As winter approaches, the consumers face load-shedding and inconsistent supply.
Besides, SNGPL, in a bid to curb theft, has intensified crackdown on illegal gas connections. Last month, the firm disconnected 136 unauthorized connections in several crucial regions including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. Under the crackdown, the body has resulted in fines exceeding Rs9 million.
Many cases of illegal connections were reported in South Punjab including Multan, Sahiwal, and Bahawalpur. In the central Punjab, including Lahore and Faisalabad divisions, the authorities removed 55 illegal connections, leading to imposition of fines of Rs3.75 million.
