(Web Desk) For the first time since its reorganisation in 2006, Punjab’s traffic police force is set to undergo a uniform change.

Police officials have proposed a new khaki-coloured uniform, aligning with a more practical design suited to the province’s climate.

While the Punjab Police updated its own uniform in 2017, this will be the first update for the traffic police in nearly two decades.

A detailed summary of the proposed change—complete with design images—has been submitted by the Punjab Inspector General of Police to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for final approval.

Officials noted that the choice of fabric and colour was made with Punjab’s weather conditions in mind, aiming to offer comfort and functionality throughout both summer and winter.

Once approved by the chief minister, the rollout will begin with logistical preparations and province-wide distribution of the new uniforms.
